Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
By Appointment only. My primary studio is located in Mount Juliet, and I also offer sessions in a stunning natural light studio in West Nashville. I do outdoor sessions all over Nashville, Thursdays – Sundays.
What are your Newborn safety measures?
Safety Procedures : I get this question a bunch – whether it’s about my baby-whispering skills or keeping things safe in the studio. So here’s the scoop: I’ve been rocking newborn sessions for over eight years now. Every year, I make sure I’m up to date by taking a newborn photography safety course. It’s not just about holding babies; you pick up some nifty procedures too. I’ve dived into newborn anatomy because, honestly, it’s more than just holding them – you’ve got to get their cues and know what their little bodies can handle.
I’m like a ninja when it comes to swaddling and setting up tiny humans. Always keeping an eagle eye on how they’re reacting and handling it. And hey, if your baby has any quirks or is on meds, spill the beans. I switch up props and baby outfits every time, and everything gets a good wash. Things that can’t hit the washer get a nice sanitizing bath.
Now, about the studio – I’m on a wiping spree before and after every session – surfaces, doorknobs, banisters, bathrooms, even the coffee spot. If you’re feeling under the weather, let’s reschedule. Got some teeny tiny clients who can’t afford to catch a bug. Fever? Better reschedule. And trust me, if I’m feeling off, I’m giving myself a time-out and getting a doctors opinion. Living in Tennessee, you play detective with colds and allergies. Bottom line: I don’t do sick days, so let’s keep the studio bug-free together.
When should I schedule my Newborn Session?
It’s super important to book the correct age range. It honestly really does matter. A week old will be completely different than a one month old. But no matter what cute shots will be taken. If your baby is older than one month please see the children packages I offer. But if you have not had your baby yet and are planning in advance, I always tell people to book ONE week after their due date and then keep me posted. That way you are at least on the schedule and I can move you around accordingly.
What type of sessions do you photograph?
I specialize in Newborns, Children and Maternity. I also photograph Families, 1st Birthday’s, Senior Sessions, Small Weddings, Elopements, Proposals, Headshots, Corporate Headshot events.
When should I book my maternity session?
Personally, I recommend scheduling your session between 28 to 36 weeks into your pregnancy. However, every individual is unique, and your comfort is my priority.
What is your process like?
First, submit a request for your preferred date and time. Your request will be approved or denied within 24 hours. Keep an eye out for welcome guides and confirmation emails. You will also receive text message reminders prior to your session.
On the day of your session, arrive at the studio at your scheduled time. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session. You can pay cash, card or apps. Within 24-48 hours after your session, you’ll receive a gallery of unedited images via email. You then have 5 days to select the images you want edited. Additional images beyond your package allowance are $8 each. If you wanted to download all the original images it does cost extra to do so.
Edited images will be completed and sent back to you within 1-2 weeks. All packages include digital images. Once your edited images are ready, you can order prints directly from your gallery or download your photo release to print them elsewhere. Your images will be available in the gallery for one month, so please download them before they expire. Re-uploading fees may apply after that period.
